MEET THE ANIMALS

Meet the Animals

Given every half hour, our guided tours are both informative and interactive. A knowledgeable guide will first introduce the adult emus and ostriches. You will learn about the ostrich’s amazing speed as well as other defense mechanisms it uses against predators. Mating, rearing, and feeding habits will both surprise and amuse you. You will even have the opportunity to hand-feed the not-so-shy creatures. Just watch out! Ostriches are ALWAYS hungry, and if you have food in your hands, you may quickly find yourself surrounded by a herd of curious critters.

The tour concludes with a visit to the incubator, hatchery, and the special pens for young ostriches and emus. You will learn some interesting facts about ostrich eggs as well as the incredible growth rate of young ostriches. Our guides are well-equipped to answer your questions about ostriches and emus throughout the tour. We hope you take the opportunity to learn more about these fascinating creatures.

Tours fees: $14 per adult, $7 per child
Tour Schedule: Every  hour from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM every day of the week.

4 star ratingGreat visit even without taking a tour. We didn't take the tour. When we arrived we were told the tour was about 40 minutes, and most of it involved walking or standing in the sun. It was so extremely hot and humid we decided to skip the tour. Instead, we enjoyed some drinks and purchased crafts (Christmas gifts) from local vendors that were having a crafts fair/show.

5 star ratingSee the Biggest Birds in the World This is a great way to get away from the beach and the crowds, see and learn something different, and give back a little.

This one is pretty easy to find, right on the road to the Natural Bridge--you can't miss it. Parking is free.

The guide was super-helpful, offering to carry a chair for my mobility-impaired partner. You get lots of explanations about the ostriches and emus there. You can feed them from a bowl and feed a few by hand. Total time for the tour was about an hour.

There is a nice gift shop with some interesting local stuff, and lots of stuff ostrich-branded. There's a nice bar and food is available on a very large and breezy shaded porch.
